Ballare Carmel is Carmel Dance Festival's resident professional dance company that collaborates with local artists and tells regional stories through contemporary dance.

The company debuted in August 2022 at  Folktale Winery & Vineyards in "The Outer Gate" choreographed by Chicago-based Noelle Kayser. In November 2022, Ballare Carmel had a triple world premiere at the Sunset Center featuring works by Brooklyn-based Jennifer Archibald, Los Angeles-based James Gregg, and Zurich-based Ihsan Rustem. The program included set design by Mark Bear, lighting design by Kendall Smith, and live music by violinist Edwin Huizinga and pianist  Keisuke Nakagoshi.
