INTERNSHIPS
Gain hands-on experience in the arts while working alongside the team behind Carmel Dance Festival. Our internships offer emerging professionals the opportunity to build practical skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and experience the inner workings of a nonprofit performing arts organization.

MARKETING & CONTENT CREATION: Help tell Carmel Dance Festival's story. Interns may assist with social media, email campaigns, website content, artist features, promotional materials, and creative storytelling while building a portfolio of real-world work.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO: Capture the energy and magic of Carmel Dance Festival—from rehearsals and performances to artist interviews and special events. Photo and video interns gain experience documenting professional artists and creating compelling visual content for archival, digital, and promotional use.

NONPROFIT ARTS MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION: Go behind the scenes of a nonprofit arts organization and learn what it takes to make ambitious programming possible. Interns may gain experience in development, artist relations, contracts, grant writing, programming, community engagement, communications, research, and day-to-day Festival operations.

EVENT PRODUCTION: Experience live performance from the production side. Work alongside CDF staff and artists on rehearsals, performances, receptions, and special events while gaining hands-on experience with scheduling, artist hospitality, transportation, front-of-house operations, venue coordination, and event logistics.
Internships can be tailored to an individual’s availability, interests, experience, and educational or career goals. Opportunities are year-long and range from 1 week to 1 year.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
Need community service hours for school, work, or another program? Complete your hours while supporting a local nonprofit arts organization and helping us prepare for the season ahead.
CURRENT COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

ASSET INVENTORY: Help us organize, identify, photograph, label, and catalog Festival assets, including costumes, props, equipment, supplies, and production materials.

OFFICE ORGANIZATION: Assist with organizing files, supplies, storage areas, archives, and other materials that help keep our nonprofit running efficiently behind the scenes.
Community service hours can be documented and verified upon completion.
