Carmel Dance Festival is honored and elated to collaborate with esteemed painter SIMON BULL. We created this event together to provide joy, LOVE, beauty, connection, thought-provoking entertainment, and inspiration for our community through extraordinary art.
Our resident company (Ballare Carmel) will dance, Simon Bull will paint, and then the dancers and Simon will interconnect; fusing dancing and painting.
Enjoy beautiful contemporary dance, learning about Simon's creative process, wine, charcuterie, and perhaps most noteworthy, an opportunity to collect Simon Bull's original artwork while supporting a great cause. Proceeds will provide scholarships for promising dancers and fellowships for emerging choreographers; helping foster the future of dance.

ART INSPIRING ART
Simon Bull attended our resident dance company's debut at Folktale Winery & Vineyards last summer and was moved to tears. He witnessed 6 passionate dancers perform in choreographer Noelle Kayser's immersive "The Outer Gate," inspired by the pioneering women of Carmel. After the performance, CDF founders Grant & Lillian Barbeito conversed with Simon about dance and painting converging.
Less than a year later, they are embarking on their first collaboration.
