Unforgettable dance
in an unforgettable place
Welcome to Carmel Dance Festival, Monterey County's place for artistic nourishment, exquisite dance presentations, dance education for all ages, abilities, and demographics, and life-affirming community-building opportunities.
Our nonprofit is located on the homelands of the Costanoan, Ensen, Essalen, Ohlone, and Rumsen people. As a presenting and educational organization, it is our responsibility to acknowledge the traditional territories of these tribal nations. Consistent with our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, understanding the historical and current experiences of Native peoples helps inform the work we do.

EXPLORE

Education
In addition to our festival dance performances, we aim to broaden our societal impact via dance education opportunities for movers of all ages and demographics.

The Wisdom Project
The Wisdom Project provides dance training and the creation of new work for movers age 40 and better. This dance melee is designed to eclipse prejudice and discrimination on the grounds of a person's age with love, acceptance, and reverence of older dancers.

We are committed to our work in dance presentation and education, but we cannot do it alone. We’re passionate about working hand-in-hand with our community patrons and partners. Will you join us?

Outreach
Dance is for everyone. We offer classes and workshops for movers living with disabilities.
We also bring the joy of dance to Monterey County through our school show program.

We are committed to our work in dance presentation and education, but we cannot do it alone. We’re passionate about working hand-in-hand with our community patrons and partners. Will you join us?

We commission emerging and established choreographers to create new, engaging works.
